This is the season of Pentecost
The season of Pentecost, the longest season of our Christian calendar. Traditionally, Christians celebrate the day of Pentecost as a feast commemorating the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and other followers of Jesus Christ, as described in the Book of Acts 2:1–31. Since Pentecost follows the season of Easter, it occurs during the spring, and the rebirth of flora and fauna remind us of the beauty and wonder of our magnificent God.
At Trinity Lutheran Church, we customarily celebrate the conclusion of our confirmation course of study on or near Pentecost Sunday.
The liturgical color for the actual Sunday of Pentecost, which you will see on the altar and on the stole that the pastor wears, is red. However, the liturgical color for the remainder of the season of Pentecost is green.
